Black Cherry Frost Dianthus is a compact mat-forming evergreen perennial with blue-grey foliage and hairy stems. Masses of fragrant semi-double velvet red flowers with frosted frilled edges bloom first in early summer, and again in early fall if deadheaded. Blooms best in full sun and slightly alkaline, moist, and well-drained soil. Black Cherry Frost is heat, drought, and salt tolerant.
