Bristol Black Raspberry is a thorny native deciduous shrub grown for its high yield of excellent quality berries in early summer. Its white spring flowers gives way to the deep glossy black berries with a rich and deep sweet-tart flavor. Best fruiting in full sun and highly rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils. Bristol is self-pollinating.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Medium Maintenance. Intolerant of wet soils- can lead to root rot. Prune fruiting canes and weak canes immediately after fruiting, and as needed in winter. Remove suckers and trimmings to prevent rooting. Anthracnose, botrytis and root rot can be serious problems. Cane and crown borers are potential serious pests.
